About Role:

Nike is seeking a Software Engineer II – Backend who is eager to design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems in a cloud-native environment. You should be well-versed in backend technologies, APIs, and cloud platforms, and love solving technical challenges that make user experiences seamless.

Key Technical Skills:

Java, Python, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Microservices, AWS, Azure, GCP, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Git, CI/CD pipelines, TDD, JUnit, Jest, Mocha

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with backend technologies such as Java or Python.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Proficient in both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks.
• Skilled in building CI/CD pipelines and using version control systems like Git.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and team collaboration best practices.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a passion for clean, high-quality code.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with eCommerce, logistics, or supply chain systems.
• Familiarity with serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda).
• Exposure to observability tools like Splunk, SignalFx, or New Relic.

As part of the GaME (Geographies & Marketplace Experiences) team:

• You’ll design and build scalable backend services that support high-performance consumer applications.
• You’ll work with microservices architecture to ensure backend systems are robust and reliable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and optimize features.
• Participate in peer code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Continuously research and implement backend best practices and tools.
• Support agile workflows and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
